![]() The Victorian Fayre has been held every year since 1985 and provides a wonderful day for all the residents and visitors to the town and has raised thousands of pounds for charities and local organisations. This year’s Fayre is being held on Friday 12th December 2008 and will be one of the best ever. During the day there will be the usual Friday street market and local schools will be singing carols throughout Otley. In the evening the atmosphere takes a step back to a former era when the main roads in the centre of Otley are closed to accommodate children’s rides and amusements, street organs, a miniature railway, Morris dancers, choirs and other events. Wilkinson’s Butcher’s famous Hog Roast will be outside their shop in Boroughgate, filling the air with delicious aromas and selling hot roast pork sandwiches. We are aiming to have a bigger than ever market with a wide range of traders selling Christmas goodies. There will be many stalls raising funds for local good causes and this year we hope that there will be a number of craft stall in attendance – make sure you visit them to find that original gift for your hard to please friends and relatives. The price for a Charitable Stall is £20 and for a Trade Stall is £25 Enquiries about the availability of stalls can be made to Stephanie Lee Tel. 07973 134519 or to Leanne Clayton Tel: 01943 467428 - Email: steph.lee7@talktalk.net Next Year's fayre is on Friday 11th December 2009 Volunteers to help both on the night and in the planning of the Fayre are always needed and would be warmly welcomed by the small committee that organises the event.
